The Compensatory Fish Farming programme provides guidance and knowledge transfer covering the entire path from breeding strategies to release and follow-up. Among other activities the programme is developing a guide for fish farmers to use in their daily work to promote healthy fish. The research carried out in the programme aims to secure long term sustainable and viable fish populations.
Compensatory Fish Farming
In this programme researchers and farmers work together to promote fish health and long term sustainable compensatory fish farming practices. The programme also acts as a forum for dialogue between fish farm professionals, authorities, and research with the ambition to enable joint decisions for research initiation and consensus on the future development of the sector.
