# Energiforsk

> Energiforsk is the Swedish energy industry's research and knowledge company. It initiates, coordinates and conducts research and analysis in the energy field to support a robust, sustainable and competitive energy system. It is a politically neutral, non-profit company (icke vinstutdelande aktiebolag) owned by Energiföretagen Sverige, Energigas Sverige, Svenska kraftnät and Nordion Energi. Funding mainly comes from energy companies, industry, public agencies and trade associations that take part in its research programmes. Results are published openly as reports, most of them downloadable as PDF.

Most content is in Swedish. The Swedish site is at the root (https://energiforsk.se/) and an English version is under https://energiforsk.se/en/. The English section covers the six research areas, about 26 programmes (mainly nuclear power, hydropower, and heating and cooling, but also energy systems and solar and wind), around 300 reports and the English-language events. Swedish page names are shown in parentheses below.

How the content is organised:

- Research areas (forskningsområden) group the work into six subject areas.
- Programmes (program) are multi-year research programmes, clusters and networks. Each one belongs to a research area and has a page at `/program/{programme}/`. A programme page has a description, start and end dates, contact persons, partners and featured reports. Programmes that have ended are still published and are marked as completed.
- Projects (projekt) are individual research projects inside a programme. Not every programme publishes project pages. Where they exist, they are at `/program/{programme}/projekt/{project}/`, with a listing at `/program/{programme}/projekt/`. A project page has a purpose summary, a description, start and end dates, and the organisation or researcher doing the work (utförare).
- Reports (rapporter) are the main research output, about 2,850 in Swedish and English published by 2026, but some 50 new reports are published each year. A report page is at /rapporter/{slug}/ (English: /en/reports/{slug}/). It has the title, report number (format YYYY:NNN, for example 2024:993), authors, publication date, summary, linked research area and programme, and a PDF to download. PDFs are served from https://energiforsk.se/media/{id}/{filename}.pdf.
