Wind Power In Forests II

| 2018:499 | Matthias Mohr, Johan Arnqvist, Hamidreza Abedi, Henrik Alfredsson, Magnus Baltscheffsky, Hans Bergström, Ingemar Carlen, Lars Davidson, Antonio Segalini och Stefan Söderberg
Sweden has good conditions for wind power. However, most of Sweden (ca. 70%) is covered by forest. Forests decrease wind speeds and create turbulence, something which is not favourable for wind power.

Several Swedish wind maps have shown that forests in Nordic countries can be well suited for wind power. At the same time, there is uncertainty over wind conditions over forests at very high altitudes (ca. 150 m above ground). How good do wind resource assessment models agree with measurements? How much energy is a wind turbine in forest going to produce and which loads will a wind turbine in forest experience? This project has investigated all these issues.

    System and Integration Costs 2021-801

In this report, we have studied the possibilities and challenges of estimating total system costs for a future power system and also the definition and estimation of integration costs.

    Bayesian Methods for Preventive Maintenance

The context of this research is about the simple idea of assessing the optimal time for preventive maintenance based on available information to us from SCADA data of wind turbines. The approach is quantitative, measurable and repeatable. As a result, the contexts of these results belong in reliability and safety engineering and preventive maintenance of wind turbines.

Analysis of Vacuum Breaker Generated Transients in a 36kV Wind Farm Cable Grid

In this project it is investigated how the high frequency transients (HF) in a cable grid influence connected equipment. Both generation and propagation as well as protection is studied.
