Acceptance Criteria for Polymers in Nuclear Applicatons 2017

Polymeric materials are widely used in the nuclear sector, from small components like O-rings that are regularly exchanged to complex components that are rarely exchanged. In the COMRADE project on acceptance criteria for polymers in nuclear applications, several ageing related issues in NPP environment were studied.

Thresholds for radiation sensitivity of polymers in combined radiation-thermal environments
Available data for polymer degradation in combined radiation-thermal environments can be used to justify radiation threshold values below which radiation effects are of little consequence to useful material properties.
