The purpose of this initiative is to monitor and report on developments in the nuclear field, internationally but also in the Nordic region. The program includes technology, the marketplace and politics. An important part of the project is spreading knowledge and holding an annual conference aimed at stakeholders within nuclear power. The conference is held in English and the newsletter, which is free of charge, is written in Swedish.

Nuclear Conference Exploring Sustainability
Last week, the Annual Nuclear Conference was held in Stockholm were speakers and experts from an international arena gathered to discuss the potential for nuclear power in a sustainable energy system.

New technology on the way for nucelar power
An important aspect of the future of nuclear power centres around the development of small modular reactors. The technological details are at present well on their way and now challenges revolve around political decisions for standardised regulation.

Small modular reactors – educational material and market survey
Small modular reactors (SMRs) is a type of nuclear fission reactor which is smaller than conventional reactors, manufactured in a plant and then brought to a nuclear site to be assembled. Modular reactors allow for less on-site construction, increased containment efficiency, and heightened nuclear materials security. SMRs have been proposed as a less expensive alternative to conventional nuclear reactors.
