This project is a consortium of leading Nordic energy system modellers and researchers that during the last 1,5 years have developed scenarios showing how the Nordic energy system can become carbon neutral by 2050. The project was led by Energiforsk's CEO Markus Wråke and commissioned by Nordic Energy Research in support of the Nordic Council of Ministers Declaration on Carbon Neutrality
The resulting scenarios illustrate how technological and societal developments might shape the Nordic energy system of the future. The analysis shows that there are not one but five different solution tracks to pursue, many dependent on Nordic collaboration.
