Vibrations in nuclear applications

How can component vibrations in a nuclear power plant be mitigated to ensure safe, efficient operations as well as reduce the risk of costly repairs?

Welcome to the annual seminar of the Energiforsk research program Vibrations in Nuclear Applications! The seminar will be a hybrid event offering both physical and virtual participation. During this year’s seminar we will focus on Sub Sychronous Resonance (SSR) – A serious Electromechanical Interaction in Turbogenerators.

The Vibrations R&D program was founded because the nuclear field lacks knowledge on how to best manage issues related to vibrations. This recurring seminar is one of the ways in which we contribute to increasing the knowledge of measurement, analysis, and mitigation of vibrations in key components in the nuclear power plant.
